The Tanii Supuñ Dùukuñ (TSD) or the Apatani Apex Council is the apex organization of the Apatani community of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It was launched with fanfare on November 29, 2014 in the Subansiri Stadium, Ziro. The TSD is mandated to represent the community on issues of common interests concerning all. Its objectives include promotion of social harmony among all sections of the society and also to oversee the interest of the people and place of the Apatanis. The organization comprises of a Central Executive Body (CEB) and an Advisory Board, both of which are primarily based at Ziro, Lower Subansiri District. The Governing Council, the permanent body of the organization, which is based in Itanagar, oversees the functioning of the CEB. In addition, there are units in all the districts of Arunachal Pradesh and some states of the country.
The Apatani-based organizations that have pan-Apatani jurisdiction in their thematic areas of work are eligible to be affiliated to the TSD.
Whereas there exist many traditional social organizations, unions, societies, NGOs other bodies in various names and nature within Apatani community, whose objectives and functions are directed towards the socio-cultural, socio-economic and literary development and to promote harmony, unity and integrity of Apatani. Whereas it is considered necessary and expedient to constitute an umbrella organization to co-ordinate and also to act as appellate body of these various organizations. WHEREAS it is considered necessary and expedient to provide/constitute an Apex Body/Organization in order to guide, promote and encourage healthy and sustainable growth and development of Apatani/Society/Community as a whole.
